In the news: Trudeau hates minorities, and Premier Scott Moe may end restrictions.

Mr. Diversity himself has finally found a minority he doesn’t like. When asked about the freedom convoy, Trudeau stated:

“The small, fringe minority of people who are on their way to Ottawa, who are, uh, holding unacceptable, uh, views, uh, that they are expressing, do not represent the views of Canadians who have been there for eachother, who know that following the science and stepping up to protect eachother is the best way to continue to ensure our freedoms, our rights, our values as a country.”

Apparently, diversity of thought is not our strength.

In other news, Premier Scott Moe mentioned that in the next number of days there will be further communication around “existing public health orders or the existing restrictions we have in place”. Interestingly, he specifically mentioned the vaccine mandate as one of those mandates that has run its course.

While Saskatchewan has yet to re-add cases by vaccination status back on their dashboard, they have begun to add them as part of their daily updates. Here is the update from Sunday:

Of the 1,483 new cases reported today, 284 were unvaccinated or fewer than 21 days after their first dose, 79 had received their first dose or were less than 21 days from their second dose, 809 were fully vaccinated (more than 14 days since their second dose) and 311 were fully vaccinated and more than 14 days from receiving their booster dose

At least* 80.5% of cases were in the vaccinated, including around 21% boosted individuals.

* noting, of course, that it includes the vaccinated in their first 21 days. That number would include 16,000 people with their first dose (counting backwards from today) or nearly 1.5% of the total population.

And here is today’s update:

Of the 1,194 new cases reported today, 203 were unvaccinated or fewer than 21 days after their first dose, 50 had received their first dose or were less than 21 days from their second dose, 616 were fully vaccinated (more than 14 days since their second dose) and 325 were fully vaccinated and more than 14 days from receiving their booster dose.

As of today, at least 83% of individuals were vaccinated, including over 27% who have received a booster. I have no idea how many boosters Saskatchewan has given, but in any case, that doesn’t sound like a highly effective vaccine. Maybe Scott Moe realizes as much…
