I am split between doing these updates as they come in and spamming people’s inbox, so let me know if daily case updates are not appreciated and I can switch to a once weekly format.
Here are today’s updates with, as always, a bit of context added in. The weekend update can be found here.
Alberta
On Tuesday there were:
802 new cases
41 in the partially vaccinated cohort including 17 in the first 14 days
621 in the fully vaccinated/booster cohort
140 in the unvaccinated cohort
2 deaths, 1 in the fully vaccinated
That works out to 82.5% of cases in the vaccinated population. As of Monday, the province is 78.6% vaccinated.
I found the follow chart and graph interesting for those interested in how subversive and unreliable the Alberta has been from the beginning.
Note the proportion of unvaccinated cases in the under 12 age range.
On the left is vaccinated cases in the first 14 days. The hot pink cases are in the under 12 years old age range. There is slightly less than 500 cases there, and they are likely still active (as the vaccine was approved midway through last month). They even count the ones 14 days after the first dose in the unvaccinated cohort in the chart above. Yikes.
Saskatchewan
Over Tuesday there were:
67 new cases
2 in the partially vaccinated cohort
35 in the fully vaccinated/booster cohort
30 in the unvaccinated cohort
That works out to 55% of cases in the vaccinated population. As of Monday, the province is 79.4% vaccinated1.
Manitoba
On Tuesday there were:
302 new cases
12 cases in the partially vaccinated cohort
230 cases in the fully vaccinated cohort
60 cases in the unvaccinated cohort
That works out to 80.13% of cases in the vaccinated population. Currently, the province is 80.8% vaccinated.
Ontario
On Tuesday there were:
3305 new cases
132 in the partially vaccinated cohort
2500 in the fully vaccinated/booster cohort
673 in the unvaccinated cohort
That works out to 79.64% of cases in the vaccinated population. As of Monday the province is 82.3% vaccinated.
Quebec
On Tuesday there were:
5043 new cases
238 in the partially vaccinated cohort
3586 in the fully vaccinated/booster cohort
1219 in the unvaccinated cohort
That works out to 75.83% of cases in the vaccinated population. As of Monday, the province is 84.1% vaccinated.
Note, this is the least reliable data of all the provinces. Saskatchewan only counts individuals as vaccinated if they are 3 weeks post first dose (all other provinces are 2 weeks). As this coincides with a period where first doses are being distributed in large numbers to the 5-11 age group, many of the unvaccinated cases likely fall into the vaccinated category. Furthermore, as the cases were quite low and the unvaccinated are forced to test for work in most places, the vaccinated cases are likely deflated in comparison.
I would say keep posting these updates. Whoever does not want to read them, will not read them. You may end up with a great Canadian following. Just title these updates clearly so people would know right away what it is about.
Please keep the posts coming. I just found Vaccination Nation thanks to reading your comments on Igor's substack.
Thank you, Jestre, for putting out Canadian data, your efforts are very much appreciated!
