Will more restrictions be lifted?

*clutches pearls* I’m shocked, shocked I say! What could Kenney possibly be thinking?

Oh.

Seems the booster isn’t that effective. In fact, it seems the vaccine isn’t that effective. Below was the probability of testing positive for the virus in a given year by vaccination status from January 2021 to today in Alberta. See here for my methodology.

Now, we can argue about whether it is fair to represent boosters in this way: they only lived through the highly infectious omicron period, after all. But it seems a little late to make that point in favor of the vaccinated.

I have been saying for a long time that it is unfair to count the 500 or so unvaccinated deaths that occurred during the Winter 2021 wave before basically anyone was vaccinated. The unvaccinated had lived through harder life years, so to speak.

While those with boosters have now lived with harder life years than the unvaccinated, say, this is not true for the double vaccinated. The unvaccinated have lived through two winter waves and the double vaccinated have lived through, at most, one. In fact, considering how many of the double vaccinated became boosted during the last winter wave, they have lived much easier life years in comparison. Yet, they were still more likely to test positive than the unvaccinated over the entire period.

Kenney should not be talking about removing the restrictions. He should be talking about reparations for all the torture his government and other governments have put the unvaccinated through based on, possibly, the least effective vaccine of all time. The entire basis for vaccination passports was that they were supposed to reduce transmission. His rhetoric, and the rhetoric of other political leaders, has led to the social and economic segregation of the unvaccinated.

We have been called animals, parasites, and plague rats. But as I have said before, the plague came on the fleas, not on the rats.
