I, being a cynical person, can't help but wonder if both Saskatchewan and Alberta premiers are just saying they will lift restrictions because of the protests. Once these amazing truckers are forced out of Ottawa , I have a problem believing they will actually follow through and keep their word. Not only should all restrictions be lifted but every TV medical doctor expert should be immediately removed from the airwaves.
I think the UCP is about to riot and SaskParty's main constituents are the very kind of people sitting in Ottawa right now.... I think the restrictions go, and I think other provinces follow soon after. But after the last two years, I understand why it's better to wait and see
Because health and politics have been so intertwined with covid it begs the question. Are these two premiers changing course, because, given the mood of the people, it's a shrewd political move or is it because they really believe from a health point of view that's it's time to move on. I would prefer the latter because if it's the first one then I am not that hopeful. And at the Federal level, it's nothing but political theater.
It's irritating how, even as they remove restrictions, I still notice the "despite" high levels of hospitalization narrative. What they really should be saying is "because." BECAUSE restrictions don't appear to reduce hospitalizations, we are dropping them.
As long as they try to cling to the lifeboat of "everything we did helped, but people are tired of it, so we'll stop for now," we all may live to see the day when restrictions are reimposed. I agree with your penultimate paragraph: we're not fighting for breadcrumbs here.
Although Moe and Kenney have been surprisingly disappointing over the past 2 years, I suppose it's better late than never. Now Ford has to find the courage to stop listening to such bad guidance, ditch his inept advisors, remember his earlier opposition to these draconian policies, and drop all these horrible policies/mandates.
Considering possible nefarious objectives, these “vaccines “ might be anything but “the least effective of all time”, in fact from some perspectives perhaps the exact opposite.
Also, these cases per 100,000 charts should be taken with a pound of salt as they skew the data as much as possible toward unjabbed by misclassifications at all steps (testing, hospitalizations, deaths).

Epic post!
We rats are the ones who get to keep our health.
And our autonomy.

Good read!
