Western media and politicians have finally found an event significant enough to change the news cycle away from unfavorable pandemic coverage: a hypothetical third world war. As per usual, the powers that be have taken a side that allows little room for nuance. Ukraine, a country that has been perpetually ignored for the last eight years, is the heroic underdog, and Russia, enemy number one for at least the last six years, the evil villain.
It is truly unbelievable how quickly people can change their minds. And how an epidemic can disappear within days after being front and back page news for 2 years. Thank you for what I think is a more realistic view.
I have noticed the same, how so many of the same people who were anti-trucker, and vicious about it, are now pro-Ukraine. That alone makes me question pro-Ukraine sentiment.
I pretty much concur that your take on Russia and Ukraine is how I perceive this situation. I am in the minority because I don't think 100 percent of the blame should be attributed to Russia. Western nations and Nato have been poking a stick at Putin for years. It looks like he has had enough and is striking back. Whether it's the right move is anybody guess. At least for the moment the media is preoccupied with reporting on this situation and not CONSTANT covid drivel.
The upward pressure this war puts on gas prices is also going to discourage many potential convoy members. Food and basic supplies will also get much more expensive.
It is still "Kiev" my friend. Has been since before 1940. What is with the "Kyiv" media kowtow that started in January? That is like suddenly calling "ISIS" "ISIL." Resist.
Calamity Chase Journaling is numero uno feeder on dead and dying.
Scavenging by design to pro or con some notion, not sure what circle of H that qualifies for, but it's certainly on a trajectory.
"News" is just another drawing room drama on the screen. When an off the cuff remark or attitude is expressed, it appears so alien to the production, as it is just that, PRODUCED.
It's quite a coincidence that this war starts just as Democrats need COVID to disappear.

Thank you for a balanced view of the situation. Couldn’t help but be reminded of a tragically hip song.
It’s been a long time running
It’s been a long time coming
Well, well, it’s all the same mistake

Poland is calling up its citizens. And it seems to extend to anyone under 60.

i.e. product. Information product.
