Compared to regime-loyal media you're wonder of clarity.
Hm, that's not really saying much today. Your text is good, period.
Regarding that "leftist" friend of yours, how about this hypothesis:
Very few political issues (and today everything is politics) are left or right at all. They are practical issues. Principles however can be described as being something or other (though personally I don't hold to the left/right divide as it is an artifice of how parliaments were seated originally and has sweet F all to do with actual politics).
Take this situation: income tax hits lower income workers harder as it gobbles up a greater portion of their paycheck, since we don't pay bills based on relative levels of income but in absolute numbers. So if we lower taxes for the 1/3 who makes the least (assuming full time) to improve their situation and give them a greater range of choices, is that left or right?
Lowering taxes is "right" and improving standards for the poorest is "left", yes? So is the example left or right politics?
It's all semantics (well no, I tell a lie - it's not only semantics) and rationalisations for the most part.
Want to argue for private gun ownership from a traditional left standpoint? Only an armed citizenry of workers, farmers and self employed professionals and craftsmen can oppose both governemental overreach and corporate tyranny. Add in some key phrases such as solidarity, downtrodden masses, and so on and hey presto, the revolutionary train is rolling.
For a right version, add different keywords. For a classic pre-WW2 liberal, nationalist democratic, and libertarian standpoint I guess it's fine as is?
See what you did with that text of yours, got me thinking about stuff. :)
I wish I still knew people like you describe. Time was almost everyone I knew could be described exactly like that. Now? They fell into the deep end of the pool and forgot to come up for air.
It’s a real shame too. Interesting conversations were possible then. Now it’s “anti vaxxer!” Nothing else is possible now. “I can’t forgive these people” is the phrase I hear a lot, and it’s heartfelt. It’s very hard to come to grips with being made a pariah amongst your “loved ones,” but being told to stay away from them lest you “kill granny” with your breath, let alone the touch of your hand. If convincing us he doesn’t exist was the devil’s best trick, this delusion of proximal toxicity was certainly his second best trick. They may say “love is love” all day long but they also believe your love is loaded with lethal viral cooties. That’s some good trick to make people recoil at the prospect of a HUG.
Hopefully this article doesn't come across as meandering ramblings but on second glance it just might..
No, not at all.

Thank you for continuing your work.
The Parliament needs to be a Plebs one. As a check on the extortionists.
Terrific post, Jestre, insightful and appreciated.
There is just so much to cover, what with all the unprecedented goings on. It would be difficult not to meander a bit. Great meanderings regardless
Kyle Kemper, Justin’s stepbrother, is like that. Definitely not right wing, but opposed to this tyranny.
It’s heartening to know someone so close to JT is openly opposed to everything he’s doing.

The left have fallen. They have been a disgrace this last two years.
